Cluny Abbey

The artwork captures Cluny Abbey in France. The abbey was founded by William I, Duke of Aquitaine in 910 AD. A Romanesque Benedictine Abbey was established here and Cluny became a leader of western monasticism. The abbey was almost entirely destroyed during the French Revolution and only 1 of 8 towers remain.
